Baker's Edge Nonstick Edge Brownie PanReviewsThis purpose-specific pan creates dream brownies or blondies, where every piece has at least two "edges". A true brownie (or blondie) aficionado will tell you it's all about the crust and the contrast between that edge's texture and the chewy (or moist or cakey) interior of the confection. So, traditional pans seem wasteful, since they bake up substantial amounts of brownies that have only one crusty edge, or worse, no edge at all. This pan aims to remove that waste and make every serving of brownie be equally well-endowed. In use, this pan baked up thick blondies (which I prefer to classic brownies) with perfect crusty edges-- the corner pieces are the best, with three edges. My blondie recipe is designed for a 9x13" cake pan, and filled this pan reasonably (to a greater depth than the 9x13 would have been filled). It took extra effort with a spatula to spread the batter evenly. The baking time for the recipe in this Baker's Edge, was a few minutes longer than in the 9x13", but the directions state baking time should usually decrease from a traditional pan. I suspect that's based on the amount of batter that would go into a brownie pan (typically a smaller 8x8 or 9x9). Experiment with your recipes and start checking for doneness a few minutes before you would normally. I anticipated the resulting blondies would be hard to remove from the pan, so I used cooking spray before filling the pan, and after baking, loosened the edges with a sharp knife. I cooled the blondies in the pan for a few minutes, then upended the pan over a wire rack and tapped the bottom firmly a few times. The entire blondie bar came out neatly, voila! Without taking this care, I think it would have been difficult to remove the entire bar neatly from the pan. But, if you're crazy about edges enough to buy a pan specifically for that purpose, a little extra effort to get the brownies out neatly doesn't seem unreasonable... Edge evangalism aside, it's easy for a modern kitchen to fill with a clutter of purpose-specific tools, so I try very hard to not buy such tools unless I will use them often enough, or if they are somehow game-changing. This pan made the cut for producing unique-looking, beautifully edged blondies and brownies. Recommended if multi-edged brownie bars make your mouth water too. This is a wonderful pan- as the other reviewers have stated it is very heavy construction and cleans up nicely! I bake brownies several times a month and I do use the high end mixes and this pan results in perfect brownies every time. I have about 1/2'd the baking time and yes, it is helpful to pour your mix from a bowl with a spout... I cool completely, then turn out on a cutting board and cut them with a sharp knife- I struggled to get them out of the pan with the little spatula but whatever works- I will be buying a few of these for my friends! I could make this a long review, but I'm not... Just going to state the facts.. This pan is awesome...Makes perfect brownies everytime.... Every brownie has a corner... and they are just right... Not the hard corners like from other pans...My Family has finally stopped asking me how how I do it... Now they just enjoy them... Puts a smile on my face to see everyone going back for seconds and thirds on the brownies... I don't remember what I paid for this pan plus a little spachula that comes with it...Worth every penny I spent on it... I plan on buying another one when the holidays come around... It's just so easy... Dont' buy this as a gift... Buy it for yourself first... because when you turn into the brownie queen. You'll want to keep your little pan a secret..... bought this item for my boyfriend. he loves edges! thought it was goin to be some flimsy little pan, but i went for it anyway. turns out it was heavy duty material and does just what it says. he's in love and i cant get him to stop making brownies. now he's trying to figure out how to get banana nut bread in there. This is a great product, not only for baking brownies, but think outside the box and use this pan for other baking projects. Average Rating:![]() |

We think the best brownies have moist centers, a paper - thin crackly crust, and lots of chewy edges. If you agree, you'll love the Edge Brownie Pan -- it's the only gourmet brownie pan that adds two chewy edges to every brownie! The award-winning design also improves baking performance by circulating heat evenly to the pan's middle, where food typically takes longer to bake... |

Perfect Brownie Pan SetReviewsLike many, I saw the Perfect Brownie Pan Set on TV. More than once did I think, "It can't possibly be that perfect." Well, finally, I broke down and ordered one, before really reading any reviews. After placing my order I came here and looked through the one star ratings and became concerned that I had wasted my money. Then I looked through the five star ratings and found that all the complaints listed in the one star ratings are VERY minor and unwarranted. It shows me that those people didn't take the time to read the paperwork that comes with the pan. I love this thing. It does exactly what it says it's supposed to do and it's extremely easy! To love it the way I do (and others who have expressed their adoration for this product) it's a must to do two simple things to not be disappointed. One you MUST line the pan with foil. I would recommend enough so it comes up and over the pan to prevent the inevitable leaking. If you line it, you will not have a giant mess on your hands. You may still have a little bit, but the foil keeps it from leaking into your oven and makes clean up easy. Two you MUST spray the pan VERY well with cooking spray. This prevents the brownie mix from sticking to anything. Once my brownies had cooled for maybe five minutes, I set the pan on the stand it comes with and pulled the dividers out with incredible ease. Then I flipped the stand over and POP the pan itself slid right off the brownies leaving me with 18 perfect little squares. The only thing I was disappointed in was the size of the brownies, but this thing is so easy, it's easy enough to make another batch of brownie mix and cook up another batch of brownies. So I got over that quickly. Clean up is easy as well. The foil and the spray are your friends here so use them liberally! In closing, anyone who wants perfect brownies, I HIGHLY recommend the Perfect Brownie Pan. You can't go wrong. it works fine the first three uses. then, even with the pam spray, it still gets stuck on the divider. and the crevices of the divider are very difficult to clean. it is WAY too time consuming, so I don't use it anymore. I just gently press the divider onto a fresh batch (enough for a faint imprint), then knife the brownies. but from now on, we use the all edges brownie pan. the edges are the best part, and cutting is easy. if you're thinking about getting the perfect brownie pan, don't waist your time... or money. just use a knife, it'll save you soooo much time! I have only used this product once since I purchased it, but it worked really well and the brownies turned out perfectly! Just make sure to Pam all surfaces - I took the advice of several reviewers on here and did that and everything worked fine. I ended up placing the pan on a cookie sheet to bake them, which was a good idea because a little bit of batter did leak out (we were trying to pick up the pan when that happened). So overall, I am very impressed with this product and look forward to using it more! After reading all the reviews, I decided to go ahead and purchase the Perfect Brownie Pan. I was not disappointed! The pan does not leak. I have washed it in the dishwasher and it has not bent. I followed the directions and sprayed the pan and divider with Pam. The brownies have come out perfect every time! I did not try any of the included recipes but use the Betty Crocker Original Supreme Brownie Mix. I am very happy with my purchase. I love baking, so my grandmother gave me the Perfect Brownie pan for christmas. I was so excited because I had watched the ads on tv many times and had really wanted to buy it. I used it today for the first time to make brownies for my co-workers, i was afraid because it was 7:00am and had to leave for work at 7:40am. Could I pull off an entire batch of brownies in just 40 minutes with a pan i had never used before? Yes, indeed! The pan was so easy to set up, just put the bottom in the pan sides, spray with pam, pour in batter, spray the divider/slicer with pam too, put it inside the batter and pan, and pop it in the oven. I used a store bough Betty Crocker walnut brownie mix, and cooked it at 350 for 27 minutes. The brownies came out AWESOME! The divider/slicer really does its job, it came out super easily and cut the brownies into perfect little squares. Everyone in my office was suprised at how good they looked in their stand and all pre-cut perfectly. They just grabbed them one by one, and in minutes they were all gone! I love this pan, I will try to use it for many other recipes. As for the leaking problem I have read about, it did not occur to me, i just poured the batter in the pan at once so the weight of it would push the bottom down, and it didnt leak, not even while baking. This is a perefct gift and a perfect utensil to have in your kitchen. I recommend this to anyone! Average Rating:![]() |

Wilton Giant Cupcake PanReviewsI was very excited about receiving this for my daughter's first birthday party. However, the cake did not turn out as expected. Both sides domed.... I tried to cut the dome down, but the cake started falling apart. It may have been the mixed I used, but it tasted fine. But, it was the ugliest cake ever. My granddaughter was having a party for her first birthday and my daughter wanted a cupcake theme. She came across this cake mold on Amazon and it was perfect. Before purchasing I read the previous reviews and baking hints and it sounded easy. My daughter and I performed a "trial run" a few days before the event to make sure we baked the perfect cake. After tweaking some of the suggestions, we baked it again the night before the party and it came out fabulous! It was easy and fun and we would recommend this cake mold for even those who do not consider themselves savvy in the kitchen. This is a high quality pan. I read the previous reviews and suggestions on amount of batter, baking time, etc. before I made my first cup cake. It turned out great - did not stick at all. I played around with the correct icing tip to make the bottom look like a cup cake paper - tip 1M worked great. I hollowed out the middle a bit to add some lemon filling. Its a fun cake to make. This cupcake turns out cute, and makes a great gift, although, beware, this isn't a good cake for a group (a party for instance). The finished product is certainly not big enough for more than 3-4 people to share, at most. And, much as I've tried, I cannot cook both sides at once. I've tried various depths of batter on either side with the same result. No matter how much batter you put in, because of the shape, the top of the cake cooks faster than the bottom does. So, if you cook both together, in order to have your bottom cook all the way through, your top burns. Or your top is perfect and the bottom not cooked in the middle. So, I have to cook each side individually, making for a rather time consuming process. Or maybe I need to buy another pan so one can cook the top and the other the bottom... Instructions could have been clearer. No instruction on how to clean item. And no instructions as to how much mix to add to pan. Average Rating:![]() |

1904 St. Louis World's Fair: Meet Me At The FairReviewsReleased in 2004, MUSIC OF THE 1904 ST. LOUIS WORLD'S FAIR: MEET ME AT THE FAIR is precisely that--a sampling of music you might have heard at that event, all of it the popular style of the day: ragtime. This not, however, a vintage recording; both performers and technology are modern. 'Perfesser' Bill Edwards does most of the honors, with nine tracks to his credit; others include Trebor Tichenor, The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, The New Century Ragtime Orchestra, and The New Columbian Brass Band. Of particular interest is a version of "Meet Me In St. Louis" taken from a vintage piano roll, sharp-toned and jaunty. But much the same terms can be used to describe every selection; ragtime possessed a quality that in its time was sometimes described as "the devil's music" in much the same way that rock and roll was described in the 1960s. The tempos are strict, but the play of music is enlivening, to say the least. "Meet Me In St. Louis" and "Stars and Stripes" aside, the best known selection on the recording is by far Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer"--and Joplin, easily the most famous name in ragtime, is represented four times more with "The Favorite, "The Cascades," "The Peacherine Rag," and my own favorite among his works, "The Sunflower Slow Drag." Modern listeners may find the strictness of the ragtime style a bit too formal for their tastes, but if you are interested in exploring the style you couldn't do better than this particular sampling, with each piece played to perfection. Recommended. GFT, Amazon Reviewer Average Rating:![]() |

Max Factor Pan-Cake Makeup, Tan No. 1 - 1.7 ozReviews"Amazon to the Rescue!" Pan-cake makeup has been a "staple" in my home for close to 60 years. Since Max Factor's Pan-Cake was first introduced it has always been my favorite. People often comment on how nice my skin is, (for an old lady), and I'm sure it's because of this make-up. When I heard that it was no longer available in my local stores I got this horrible sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. You know the one I mean!!! Then, as usual, Amazon came to my rescue. I love you "Amazon"! So far I've only purchased one of them. Now my big decision...should I get a couple more just to be on the safe side? What do you think? Average Rating:![]() |

Alex Toys Spy CaseReviewsThe white fingerprint powder is impossible to use. The flashlight doesn't work at all. The coding stuff could be downloaded free off the internet (in a more useable size). The binoculars distort. What a waste. My 6 yr old was so excited to receive this spy case, only to be disappointed. First the fingerprint dector pen was white not black, which not sure if you realise it is almost impossible to get a fingerprint using the white rather than the black that the product said it came with. Second the lighted magnifing glass only worked for about 2 weeks I replaced the batteries, but that didn;t get it to work again. My daughter was very careful, and put everything back in its case and one by one the items stopped working (or didnt work from the beginning) or are broken now. Save your money!! Vim & Vinegar: Moisten Cakes, Eliminate Grease, Remove Stains, Kill Weeds, Clean Pots & Pans, Soften Laundry, Unclog Drains, Control Dandruff, Season SaladsReviewsOf particular interest in this book is the non-toxic way to unclog drains. This is a "green" book with counless ways offered for cleaning around the house and yard, as well as doing your laundry without using harmful chemicals (earth friendly, kid friendly). Every household should have a copy of this book!! You could not imagine all the helpful things vinegar can be used for. Go check it out, order the book. Totally AWESOME! the book was well written and had all the info. i was looking for. "Mom knew - vinegar is magic. It makes chocolate cakes fluffier, candy tastier, windows more sparkling, even socks whiter. This book tells all there is to know about using vinegar for better gardening, cleaning, health, and, of course, cooking." (reviewed by Carol Garriott) I bought this book for the purpose of making home-made(safer than store-bought) cleansers. Most of her cleaning recipes call for ammonia-which is not good for your health. It talks about how to make different vinegars, which is acceptable although I don't think I would make my own. But I do not understand why she included food recipes that call for some(2-3tbs) vinegar.(Sloppy Joes, BBQ hamburger, etc) There are plenty other cookbooks for these types of recipes. Piece of CakeReviewsA brilliant story of RAF fighter pilots at the beginning of WW2. Without descending into bathos, and without over-glamourisation of war, Robinson tells a credible and often moving tale of the truth behind the Battle of France, and also the Battle of Britain. A worthy companion to his other books, "Hornet Squadron" and "War Story" - although the sequel to "Piece of Cake", "A Good Clean Fight", doesn't live up to the same standard (but it's a good read nonetheless!). I remember a few moons ago (about 20 years ago really) seeing something about the mini-series Piece of Cake and not being able to watch it (sorry, to poor to afford it then) and being a little interested in aviation warfare I decided I'd have to read it at some point. After spending sometime looking about and finally deciding to deal in the second hand market I picked up a copy of Piece of Cake. Piece of Cake describes a British squadron (Hornet Squadron, flying Hurricanes for those that are interested) in the early days of WWII (September 1939 thru September 1940). Mr. Robinson uses the cloak of early WWII (historical setting and British tactics) to tell the story and interactions of the men of Hornet Squadron. All of the characters are larger than life, at times making them a little hard to believe, but having known many fighter pilots in my day I can say that the only possibly making it difficult to believe is having all of these "characters" in one unit. Each character is nicely done, with personal details that are amazing, whether its Moggy and his egocentric/homicidal ways, CH3 and his this is the way it was done in Spain, "Lord" Rex is proper British, to "Fanny" Barton and his caring ways. The exploits are fascinating, there's some interesting romance situations, especially given the Phony War and the lead up to the Battle for France. The historical perspective is nicely done with Mr. Robinson showing good awareness of RAF tactics and battle situations. If there's a weakness in the book it's that Mr. Robinson's dark humor sometimes overshadows thing to much and he overemphasis the inflated claims of the RAF during the Battle of Britain and their losses. Rating wise this ones a very solid 4 star book. The first half is a little slow and drawn out as Mr. Robinson explains Hornet Squadron's makeup and things begin to gel. As you pass from the Phony War to the Battle for France there's a nice step up in the story that pushes the book toward 4.5 stars. This is eventually reached during the Battle of Britain with a momentary 5 star piece with the interactions between Moggy and Steel-Stebbing (you need to read it, great for a laugh). Given everything, a solid 4 star performance. Just a comment about the reviews of this great book. Without rehashing the accolades and criticisms: If you think the character portrayal was disrespectful to "the Few," you have obviously, never spent any time in a tactical aviation unit. The dynamics of the young pilots' relationships with each other was pretty close to reality. This book is spot on if you want to know what squadron life is like! (minus the chateau of course) I looked for this book after catching the end of the miniseries on TV. I guess the author broke a lot of "rules" about characters and probably other things, too, but I loved it. You might be introduced to a character, learn all about him, and find him dead two pages later. This gave me a sense for what it might have been like to live through those harrowing years. The readers, just like the aviators themselves, don't know who's going to make it through. An absolutely fascinating drama. Highly recommended! Having grown up "over there" reading this book makes you wonder how indeed we did win the Battle of Britain. Great book. Average Rating:![]() |
