This purpose-specific pan creates dream brownies or blondies, where every piece has at least two "edges". A true brownie (or blondie) aficionado will tell you it's all about the crust and the contrast between that edge's texture and the chewy (or moist or cakey) interior of the confection. So, traditional pans seem wasteful, since they bake up substantial amounts of brownies that have only one crusty edge, or worse, no edge at all. This pan aims to remove that waste and make every serving of brownie be equally well-endowed. In use, this pan baked up thick blondies (which I prefer to classic brownies) with perfect crusty edges-- the corner pieces are the best, with three edges. My blondie recipe is designed for a 9x13" cake pan, and filled this pan reasonably (to a greater depth than the 9x13 would have been filled). It took extra effort with a spatula to spread the batter evenly. The baking time for the recipe in this Baker's Edge, was a few minutes longer than in the 9x13", but the directions state baking time should usually decrease from a traditional pan. I suspect that's based on the amount of batter that would go into a brownie pan (typically a smaller 8x8 or 9x9). Experiment with your recipes and start checking for doneness a few minutes before you would normally. I anticipated the resulting blondies would be hard to remove from the pan, so I used cooking spray before filling the pan, and after baking, loosened the edges with a sharp knife. I cooled the blondies in the pan for a few minutes, then upended the pan over a wire rack and tapped the bottom firmly a few times. The entire blondie bar came out neatly, voila! Without taking this care, I think it would have been difficult to remove the entire bar neatly from the pan. But, if you're crazy about edges enough to buy a pan specifically for that purpose, a little extra effort to get the brownies out neatly doesn't seem unreasonable... Edge evangalism aside, it's easy for a modern kitchen to fill with a clutter of purpose-specific tools, so I try very hard to not buy such tools unless I will use them often enough, or if they are somehow game-changing. This pan made the cut for producing unique-looking, beautifully edged blondies and brownies. Recommended if multi-edged brownie bars make your mouth water too.

This is a wonderful pan- as the other reviewers have stated it is very heavy construction and cleans up nicely! I bake brownies several times a month and I do use the high end mixes and this pan results in perfect brownies every time. I have about 1/2'd the baking time and yes, it is helpful to pour your mix from a bowl with a spout... I cool completely, then turn out on a cutting board and cut them with a sharp knife- I struggled to get them out of the pan with the little spatula but whatever works- I will be buying a few of these for my friends!

I could make this a long review, but I'm not... Just going to state the facts.. This pan is awesome...Makes perfect brownies everytime.... Every brownie has a corner... and they are just right... Not the hard corners like from other pans...My Family has finally stopped asking me how how I do it... Now they just enjoy them... Puts a smile on my face to see everyone going back for seconds and thirds on the brownies... I don't remember what I paid for this pan plus a little spachula that comes with it...Worth every penny I spent on it... I plan on buying another one when the holidays come around... It's just so easy... Dont' buy this as a gift... Buy it for yourself first... because when you turn into the brownie queen. You'll want to keep your little pan a secret.....

bought this item for my boyfriend. he loves edges! thought it was goin to be some flimsy little pan, but i went for it anyway. turns out it was heavy duty material and does just what it says. he's in love and i cant get him to stop making brownies. now he's trying to figure out how to get banana nut bread in there.

This is a great product, not only for baking brownies, but think outside the box and use this pan for other baking projects.

This was just what I was looking for! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is that it should say that to get full use of this book you need the student kit to go with it, or better yet just take the class. But even so it has very clear instructions and you can find the things you need to do every thing it teaches at your near by craft store (as long as they have a cake department) I had all the stuff already (a gift from my husband) I just need the book to show me what to do with it.

This product was in the DVD section and when I received, it turned out to be a book. This makes it very difficult to show to my 8th grade students to help them understand cake decorating. I did not return it because it would have cost as much to ship it back as it cost.

This item arrived on time if not early. I have not had a chance to use this item but I would order from this seller again.

While browsing on Amazon.com, I found the Wilton method of cake decorating books. I ordered the Course 1 book and it inspired me to sign up for classes. I have found a new hobby. I love ordering on Amazon.com. It is so easy and the merchandise is in your possession before you have time to wonder where your order is.

Look for something else... this book was recommended by the website to go along with a cake decorator kit I purchased. I paid $9 for it (plus shipping) and it is not worth it. It is a very thin booklet that maybe should have cost $3.99. I bought this for a gift, and feel too chintzy to actually give it.

***Buyer beware*** This book (and the others in the series) sells for under $5 in JoAnne's. Amazon is ripping you off at $10. Know why it's so cheap? It's only about 30 pages, and much of the book is advertising for their products. OK, it does have some good information and helpful photos, and you can learn how to do some tricky stuff with it, but don't assume the price is right at Amazon.

I have just completed Wilton's Course 1 through the local Michael's store and was preparing for Course 2. The kit includes oval cake pans, so I thought I would save money on the kit since I didn't expect to use those pans again. I was thrilled to find this via Amazon.com and expedited delivery would get it to me before the first day of class and still save money over buying in the store (even with their coupon!). When the package arrived I was like a kid on Christmas morning; couldn't wait to open it up. It was soft (whereas the kit in the store comes in a box). No problem, I thought. After all, it's used and I would just throw the box away. But when I opened it, I found I only received the BOOK - no course materials/tools! I've gone back to the listing and don't find any description of "what's included" (or not included) nor the word "book" in the listing indicating that's all it would be. It's certainly not worth returning, but I'm disappointed....and now I need to find those materials anyway at additional cost! On the positive side, the book is in pristine condition. I just wish the seller had been explicit in the listing.

This is a great book to follow through with all the lessons taught in course 1. Though I'm not interested in working with fondant, this book still has new techniques for me. I'm looking forward to learning enough to make beautiful cakes for special occasions.

I bought this sometime ago, but returned it to the kindley seller who took it back. Whoever wrote the script for this movie apparently never read the Bible, or even checked to see if the presentation of facts was accurate. I'm not going into the falacies, and chronologically incorrect things presented. I will, however, warn anyone who chooses to watch this in an effort to learn correct biblical facts, there are a multitude of incorrect presentations. This was the most inaccurate movie on biblical times I've ever viewed.

I purchased this video thinking and hoping I was getting a great version of a wonderful Bible story. NOT! This is a very poor attempt at best and does a great disservice to the Truth of the Bible. Don't waste your hard earned cash on this poorly written movie. I wish I had looked at Amazon first and read the reviews. I would be $14.95 richer right now.

The movie itself wasn't so bad, and the special effects were very good, but------ Well, it certainly isn't something I'd advise as a means of helping children understand the the Noah of Genesis. It's the worst depiction of any Biblical movie I've ever seen (and I think I have every one ever made, except this one, which went directly into the trash). No, indeed, anyone who'd use this movie as a teaching tool for children, knows absolutely nothing about the Biblical account. I agree with the opinion that the writers, producers, etc, deliberately made a mockery of this story for their own secular minded purposes.

This is a great way to show the younger children about Noah and the Ark. I highly recommend it.

Can you imagine someone retelling American history and to shorten things up a bit, they have George Washington freeing the slaves and introducing the "New Deal," and then he gets shot in Dallas. That's what "Noah's Ark" does in telling Bible history. In this movie Noah prays for Sodom where his nephew Lot lives (It was Abraham who prayed for Sodom and his nephew Lot, several hundred years after the time of Noah). During the flood when Noah and his family are safely on the ark with all the animals, Lot comes along on a raft and tries to hijack the ark. Ugh! Possibly the worst Bible movie ever made. Nice special effects. That's it.

The pancake puff is so much fun to use. The picture shows two sticks being used to flip, but I found it is easier with only one. I have made eggs, pancakes, and I am trying to find a good doughnut recipe. I can definitely see myself using this for a long time!

I got this on clearance and was somewhat apprehensive after reading the less than glowing reviews here. I have to say that they must have done some improvements to the pan because I had no problems whatsoever making these today. 1) The pan comes with a cover for the handle, so no worries about it getting too hot. 2) I had no issue with the pancakes sticking. I used a non-stick coating spray and heated the pan for 10+ minutes on low. There was no sticking, no burning and I was able to flip the pancakes puffs easily using the stick and my fingers. 3) I used regular pancake mix, so I can't speak to some of the concerns with the brownies and such. I will try that tomorrow. If you can get this for a good price, I would not let the negative reviews deter you.

I just got this today and used a brownie mix from a box as my first attempt. I haven't gotten the hang of flipping them yet, and stupidly used a spoon which scratched the teflon. I didn't think it'd scratch that easily. Hopefully it'll be ok. I plan to keep using it and mastering it. So until then, my rating is only 3 stars.

The pan is non stick and a child could turn them over. They are the easist food to cook. It is basically mistake proof. You polk the long tooth pick to the side to scoop it up against the edge of the pan and turn it with the other forefinger. It's that easy and they come out delicious. You can use regular pancake mix and put maple syrup on it. Or you just fill the pan half way and put chocolate, fruits or what ever you like and then just pour the rest of the mix on top and turn them in two minutes. That's it. You can make them sweet by putting powedered sugar and cinnimon on the top. Trust me, adults love these pancakes too and they are impressive looking. You can get good recipes on the willima sonoma site. The only down side is the handle gets very hot. The new william sonoma pancake pan has now eliviated the problem.

I have wanted this pan for a while since I seen it on TV, even my husband thought it was cool! I found it at Target for half price which was a steal! I read through the previous reviews and took a lot of things into consideration before using it. Let me tell you it's so easy to use! Yes learning how to use the sticks is a bit of a challenge, but once you figure it out, easy. A few quick notes. You have to be PATIENT with this pan, if you are not patient then it's probably not a good choice for you. You have to make sure the pan is preheated but not too hot, I use between 3 and 4 on and electric stove. Grease the pan as well with a little oil, not much a little goes a long way! My kids love this pan, the little bite size pancakes that come out of it, which I tried first, they loved!! Then they wanted to try eggs as puffs, so I cooked scrambled eggs, they were too cool! Again they were loved by my children! And with 4 kids, trying to get them all to eat can be a challenge! The only complaint that I do have is it only makes 7 at a time, with a big family it can be time consuming. I will be going out to see if I can get another one, running two pans will me things go smoother. I can't wait to try more things. I really want to try the brownies that everyone seems to be having a problem with. I think an even lower temp like 2 will work well for them. I'll post my results after I try them! Overall, fantastic pan, fun and so easy!

This book is the best one I've ever seen of this type of publication. The pictures of these glorious cakes and petit fours are fabulous and you feel inspired just by viewing. I can't wait to attempt some of the featured desserts. I'm delighted by this book and so is everyone else who sees it. A great purchase!

Wow what an inspirational book - so pretty, girlie and divine. I already have had success with one of the recipes.

Beautiful ideas here. Has some nice designs that would work for a variety of events. She organizes her books in sections, cookies, minicakes, and large cakes. Her ideas are very fresh and pretty and also within reach for most people with a little experience decorating cookies and cakes. There are even a few designs that are more masculine, which can be hard to find.

This book is small, but mighty! It is amazingly simplistic yet provides a wealth of inspiration for you creative ideas. The photography is breathtakking. I think that with practice you can master the cookies, marzipan, gumpaste and fondant decorations in this book. Piping royal icing flowers is a bit more daunting. I would suggest a class or video for royal and butter cream icing flowers, Wilton How to Make Icing Flowers DVD because they can be a bit tricky (at least for me.) This book provides six basic recipes for cookies, cakes and frostings. My hope is that you are purchasing the book for decorating ideas and instruction, not for the recipes. The author's decorating syle is clean, but very elegant. The book provides a strong decorating foundation -- you can use this as a springboard for your imagination. This is the perfect book if you want to make your first decorated cookies or petit fours. If you are making your first tiered cake this book will provide inspiration, but you may need to supplement it with other sources for complete instruction.

This is another of those step-by-step cake guides that was very well worth the money. This particular book kept selling out at Michaels so I had to go online and purchase. Definitely not disappointed

contains only 6 or 7 small packs of candy or cookies....no where near worth the cost. would never do it again.

My Brother sent me a Happy Birthday gift Tote and it was sooo... much fun. The candy and cookies inside were tasty and delicious, and the tote was so cute. Of course now I'll have to send my brother something... I wonder what else they have? This was such a yummy gift.

Yesterday was my birthday and I was really blue as I thought I would be all alone. My friends had a different plan and showed up at my door with this gift that really made my day special. It is as bright and cheerful as it is in the picture and comes with a very pretty bow made of different colored ribbons. I saved the ribbons for christmas wrapping as it would be a shame to waste them they are nice quality. We enjoyed all the candy and cake together which satisfied all of our sweet tooths, but I saved the cookies for me later to go with my tea. I highly recommend this gift and have already looked into ordering the over the hill one for my friend for her birthday next month. Great friends, great goodies, good times and good laughs. Happy birthday to me!

I received this gift basket as a birthday present and was excited upon initially opening the box. From there it went downhill. The actual bag is about 2/3 stuffing with only the very top being product, and you get very little product for the price. Notables in it were "truffle cookies" that tasted like a stale vanilla cracker cookie (I'm guessing this was a substitute for the listed Balloon sugar cookies), a chocolate chip "tea cake" mini loaf that's hard to stomach more than a couple bites at a time (very bland and unappetizing), a small box of chocolate fudge that's the worst I've ever had (you probably made better fudge in home ec), a box marked "Gourmet Caramel Nut Assortment" that's actually just caramel pieces (equally disappointing). The only safe things in the package were some small (emphasis: small) packages of Jelly Bellies, fruit slice candies, and some generic hard strawberry candies. The boxes the individual products come in are deceivingly big, but trust me there's a lot of air in each of those boxes. For something by a company named "The Art of Appreciation," you can show your appreciation in much cheaper ways that doesn't leave the party on the receiving end wondering if they knew what in the world you were thinking. I wouldn't even pay $10 for this utter disappointment. Show someone you care by staying clear of this little number! (Update: I find it very interesting that within 24 hours of my posting the first review for this since it was released in 2004, a beaming almost storybook 5-star review comes up out of nowhere (Also note that this was that reviewer's first review ever--red flags galore). p.s. There was no "pretty bow" in this package, or if there was it was instantly forgetable. Obviously a lame attempt by the company to boost their rating. Stay away from this waste of money.)

I bought this for my 5 year old and it is pretty good. She likes to get smiley faces for the chores that she does around the house. I pay her 10 cents for every smiley face she gets every week. I haven't found that it really motivates her to do the work, but it's a step in the right direction. You can change the chores every week or write your own. I think the magnets could be a little stronger as well, but all in all, I'd say I'm satisfied with the product.

This chart is perfect for helping your child keep up with his responsibilities. It has different age appropriate preprinted responsibilities and a few blank ones to make your own. My son loves going over the chart at the end of the day and talking about how he did. If he gets 3 full rows in a week, then he gets a prize. He definitely thinks twice about doing something when I tell him it will effect weather he gets his magnet for that day. The only thing I wish they had done is to make more blank ones to make your own if your trying to work on something specific with your child.

I have a 5 year old and I think this is going to be a great way to motivate him to stay on task and do the daily duties required of him.

We love Melissa and Doug products. This "Responsibility Chart" is as attractive and well-made as any of their products. Our 9 year old is typically enticed to accomplish tasks when she has a chart or list, but this chart is sometimes used, sometimes not.

a purchased this b/c a friend had it. my 3 1/2 year old loves it....if she gets all of her smilie faces she gets a treat at the end of the week....makes doing thigns fun!
